A Mother's Battle to Protect Newborns from cCMV

Congenital Cytomegalovirus, or cCMV, is the leading, non-genetic, cause of childhood hearing loss. CMV is a common virus and usually causes no harm, but when infants are exposed to the virus before birth it can result in permanent birth defects and health conditions.

After the initial shock of learning about her daughter’s diagnosis, Amanda Devereaux has gone on to become a tireless advocate for raising awareness about the risks of cCMV and for protecting future generations of children from this preventable disease.

Please visit www.nationalcmv.org for information about CMV and how it can be prevented. Thank you to the Devereauxs for sharing their story with us!

Thank you to the Register for raising awareness about these new communication issues many face!
